Paper Treasures
"Paper Treasures" is a great exhibition held at the House-Museum from October 6th 2007 to January 6th 2008. It offers a unique opportunity to admire Banca Etruria's huge collection of bank-notes, over 9700 pieces mainly, but not only, from Italy originating from two private collections and then enlarged by Banca Etruria itself. The bank-notes now on display are like the leaves of a history book: they tell us a lot about the past and the present, from main events to daily needs.
All pieces have been restored and catalogued, in order to preserve such a "valuable" collection.
History of Arezzo's collectioning
In line with its important role in Arezzo's antique tradition and in order to carry on Ivan Bruschi's work, the Foundation cooperates with institutions and research centres developing an incisive link to historical collectioning, spreading restoration techniques and deepening research on antiques fortune and the minor arts.
In this context in 2007 was born the cultural project supported by the Foundation in cooperation with Scuola Normale of Pisa and University of Siena.
It's a three year project with the aim of reenacting the history of Arezzo's collectioning, of which Ivan Bruschi has been one of the last important representative, through the analysis and the study of the archaeological findings in Arezzo's area.
Many are the goals of the project, that continues in 2008: together with the research on local antique fortunes, it will be done also the complete digitalization of some important Arezzo's antique texts. Moreover, will be created a data base and a map, that will form a didactic section in this web site.
